The Power of Ideas was launched in India in 2009 as a way to encourage entrepreneurship. More than 12,500 ideas were presented and about 1,000 people were offered one-to-one mentoring. This effort result in 254 ideas being funded. Big deal.
This story reminded me of the Business Challenge by Mark Cuban almost two years ago where he invited entrepreneurs to write in with their business idea. The deal was that people had to describe their idea without regard for confidentiality. If Mark liked the idea, he may or may not fund it.
So…here is my own Power of Ideas Challenge…for all of you would-be entrepreneurs who just need THE idea. Why not review the over 2,000 business ideas in Mark Cuban’s blog, and see if you can adapt or change one of them. Or better yet, fund one of them yourself. I don’t think Mr. Cuban funded THAT many.
If you ever doubt the American spirit or ability to generate ideas, just read through the entries today.
