First time job seeker: need resume and interview advice ...

I’ve just completed my senior year & I’m now looking for my first ever job. I know that most people have already had one by the time they finish high school but to be honest I was never interested before. Now that I am, I’m trying to complete my resume & make it look at appealing as possible despite having no work experience. Resume templates I’ve found all say an objective statement is required but I’m not quite sure what to write as I’m not going for a specific job; I’m actually just going to multiple places & inquiring about part time positions/x-mas holidays casual work. Below I’ve included a rough objective statement based on tips I’ve found:

I am seeking part time employment in order to gain work experience. I’ve just completed Year 12 and currently plan on attending university as of semester one 2011; I feel that a part time employed position will add balance to my lifestyle as well as providing me with skills for the future.

Also if I do get accepted for an interview I’m confused about what to wear. For most interviews I’d obviously wear professional/sensible/boring clothing such as black pants, low heels & a blouse but if I’m going for an interview at a fashion store I’d feel a bit weird wearing that kind of thing, so in that instance can I wear normal clothing? Obviously I wouldn’t wear anything too short/revealing to an interview or even to work at all.
Sorry for such a long question! Any & all (serious) help would be greatly appreciated!
